Class Definitions:
Basic Foundation: This class will cover foundation technique and basic choreography. You will learn safe dance practices and the essential movements to build a strong foundation in bellydance. These include basic isolation movement and travelling steps. This course is designed for those who are new to bellydance or are looking for gentle exercise only
Beyond Basics: This course is for those confident in their foundation moves and will cover more challenging technique such as basic layering of movementsn and more advanced footwork. It is required that you attend a minimum of two terms (6 months) doing Basic Foundations or at the discretion of the teacher.
Class attire and must haves:
Comfortable pants and a fitted top, preferably stretch so it is easy for your teacher to check your movements and posture. No jeans or non-stretch pants are allowed, it is vital that you are comfortable and free to move. Bare feet are fine and if you prefer a pair of ballet slippers or jiffies are appropriate but not a must have. Don't forget a hip scarf or scarf to tie around your waist!!
Please ensure you bring a bottle of water as we'll be exercising and you will be thirsty.
There will be occasions where additional "props" will be required for class but you will be informed in advance by your teacher if and when these are necessary. Of course, they are always great to have just in case and a must have in any bellydancers toolbox:
Veil
Assaya (Stick/Cane)
Zills
.... and of course make sure you bring your beautiful smile!!
